The table tennis women of TTC Birkland are back in action: In the home game on Saturday, the third-placed team in the Oberliga meets a team with a world-famous club name.

Birkland – Only two double-game days within 14 days, then a four-week break: The schedule in the Oberliga Bayern recently took some getting used to for the table tennis players at TTC Birkland.

On Saturday, March 12th, 4 p.m., the last part of the season begins for the third-placed team.

In the home of the clubs, the TTC meets the penultimate, FC Bayern Munich.

The loosening of the corona also allows spectators again.

"We are happy about everyone who wants to support us," says player Lena Berchtold.

There are still five games left for the Birkländer.

The TTC women are the clear favorites against FC Bayern.

Berchtold is still cautious: "Of course we would like to repeat our victory in the preliminary round," she says.

In Munich, Birkland won 8-2.

Based on the second half of the season, Birkland (7 games/11:3 points) is the top team in the Oberliga.

The TTC is the only team still undefeated.

"We're happy about that," says Berchtold.

"This series must now be continued and expanded."

Before the most recent break, the women from Birkland caused a real surprise and inflicted their first defeat of the season on the leaders TSV Bad Rodach.

The TTC won its home game 6:4.

The back pair cross with Lena Berchtold and Beate Greib-Trapp played a large part in the success with four victories (including two five-set successes).

Karin Stumpfecker won another singles match, and Lena Berchtold/Stumpfecker won the doubles.

The next day there was a 5:5 draw against TSV Schwabhausen IV.

Lisa Böhmländer secured the point with her second individual victory.
