Feelings of happiness in stoppage time: TSV Eching gets a morally important point

The TSV Eching footballers forced a 2-2 draw at VfB Eichstätt II and climbed to 13th place in the district league table.

– For TSV Eching, the final sprint to stay up in the league started with the game at VfB Eichstätt II. For a long time it looked as if the zebras would go away empty-handed, as so often this season.
But the moral is right.
And when Florian Höltl made it 2-2 in added time, TSV coach Alexander Günther cheered: "I'm glad that luck was on our side today."
Eching had the opportunity in Eichstätt to climb two places from the last district league rank and to taste up to two points of the relegation zone.
But in the eighth minute, after an energetic performance by Josef Schneider, Mamadou Diallo increased the concerns of the guests with the VfB goal.
However, the Zebras reacted perfectly to the setback: Christian Niederstrasser pushed a corner on the second post over the line just three minutes later.
"It wasn't the first time and was indicated in the preparation," said coach Günther about the equalizer.
In the period that followed, both teams had chances, but there weren't any top-class players.
It was 1-1 at half-time.

The VfB reserve started better from that.
"The first quarter of an hour of the second half was difficult for us, Eichstätt's lead was logical," said Günther.
Diallo scored again, this time with a header from a corner (58').
A period of rest followed in which both teams neutralized each other.
After that, the Echinger increased, an open exchange of blows developed.
The Eichstätter Kicker could have closed the sack, but missed the preliminary decision.
And TSV showed morale: In injury time, Florian Höltl forced the equalizer after a free kick.
“One point was the optimum today.
But to make it 2-2 from the back was extremely important for morale,” said Günther happily.
His zebras climbed to 13th place, only four points behind relegation rank 12.
