Football star Tom Brady has announced his resignation: According to his own statements, he wants to play another NFL season for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The 44-year-old quarterback announced this on Sunday (local time) on his social media channels.

"In the past two months I've realized that my place is still on the field and not in the stands," Brady wrote.

The time to resign will come.

But it's not that far yet.

»I love my teammates and I love my supporting family.

Without her, none of this would be possible.”

He will be playing his 23rd season in the league with the Bucs, Brady wrote.

He won the Super Bowl with the team two years ago.

Last season, the Bucs failed to get there in the playoffs.

"We've got work to finish," Brady explained.

Actually, Tom Brady had only recently announced his resignation – and was honored by fans and colleagues around the world.

In early February, he stated he loved his NFl career;

but now he will use his time and energy for other things.

Brady had previously indicated that he wanted to spend more time with his family.

However, his resignation only lasted about 40 days.

Brady is the most successful football player in history: In 22 years in the NFL he won seven Super Bowls.

Between 2001 and 2020 he played for the New England Patriots and shaped the most successful era in American football history by winning six Super Bowls before Brady switched to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers - and won another title in the first year.

The German NFL fans will probably see him live in the fall: The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have already been confirmed as one of the two teams that will play the first NFL game in Germany in Munich.

Opponent and date are not yet known.
