The EA Schongau ended the Bayernliga season with a win.

The team received praise from the team manager, even if it wasn't enough for the play-offs.

Schongau – ERSC Amberg is truly a favorite opponent of EA Schongau this season.

In the fourth encounter between the two teams, there was the fourth win for the "Mammuts".

Coach Rainer Höfler's team won the most recent duel, which was also the last game in the promotion round, 4-1.

EAS thus defended its fifth place.

"It was a real willpower.

Everyone put themselves at the service of the team,” said EAS team manager Martin Resch with satisfaction.

Two days earlier, after the derby against TSV Peißenberg, things looked different.

After the 6-2 defeat, Resch was pretty pissed off (we reported).

Team manager Resch speaks of a "strong season"

In the table of the promotion round, the "Mammuts" left their neighbors von der Ammer behind.

Overall, Resch spoke of a "strong season".

Third place in the preliminary round “was outstanding.

Unfortunately, Corona slowed us down a bit at the beginning of the promotion round," said the team manager.

For him, the following applies: "We have taken another step in the right direction." Resch wants to let what happened sink in first, so that he can then calmly make the first personnel decisions for the coming season.

"We'll know more in a week or two."

In Amberg, both teams initially went about their work very cautiously.

That wasn't surprising either, because for both opponents it was no longer about anything.

Amberg was already qualified for the play-offs after beating 5-0 on Friday, while EAS were out of the race.

It lasted almost until the middle of the first third before the spectators got their first chances.

The Amberg duo Felix Köbele and Mario Strobel found their master in Philipp Wieland, who guarded the "Mammuts" case.

"Philipp was strong and kept us in the game with his saves," Resch praised the 22-year-old goalkeeper, who was voted "Player of the Evening" by the guests after the game.

Shortly before the end of the third, the "Mammuts", who had to do without Roman Tomanek, took the lead with a well-played counterattack: Simon Maucher made it 1-0 after playing with Kevin Steiner.

Stefan Saal scores first goal for EAS

In the middle section, both teams went to work with more offensive drive.

Philip Keil (23rd) took aim – the long-range shot made it 2-0.

Friedrich Weinfurtner was noted as the scorer.

Amberg also had chances, with the EAS surviving the first two outnumbered situations in the fair game unscathed.

The hosts' third power play made the game exciting again.

Andreas Pielmeier (49th) scored the 1:2 with a shot from the blue line.

After that, the Lechstadt team were lucky when Köbele hit the post.

In return, Jason Lavallee (53rd) increased the lead to 3:1.

The game was over when Stefan Saal (56th) scored his first goal for the "Mammuts" a little later after taking a target from EAS.
