Al-Jaish team lost to Saudi Al-Taawun on penalties 4-5 after the two teams tied 1-1 in the original and extra time for the match that brought them together today in the Saudi city of Buraidah in the qualifying supplement for the AFC Champions League.
Al-Jaish scored first through Mohamed Al-Waked in the 70th minute, and Al-Taawoun scored a tie in the 80th minute by Samihan Al-Nabet, before the original and extra time for the match ended with a 1-1 draw, so that the two teams decided on penalty kicks, which Al-Taawoun decided in their favour.
Al-Taawoun will join the group stage of the AFC Champions League with the fourth group, which includes Al-Duhail of Qatar, Sepahan of Iran and Pakhtakor of Uzbekistan.
It is noteworthy that the army played the match with a squad that included Abdul Latif Al-Naasan, Jihad Al-Baour, Ahmed Al-Saleh, Zakaria Hanan, Khattab Mashlab, Mazen Al-Eis, Ahmed Ragab, Zaid Ghareer, Muhammad Al-Bari, Ahmed Al-Khasi and Muhammad Al-Waked.
