Danny Abdia speaks after the loss to Golden State (the Wizards' official website in Israel)
The State of Israel and the Jewish people may already have representatives in the NBA, but Ryan Tourel, the star of Yeshiva University in New York, strives to make history and become the first religious player in the best league in the world.
"My intention is to play professional basketball next season," Tourel told ESPN after deciding to sign up for the upcoming NBA Draft.
"Being the first Jew-religious in the NBA will be a dream come true, God's will, but at the same time it will be important for others who have not seen this as a possibility.

Torel, who wears a kippah, said he intends to continue to do so even when (and if) he makes it to the NBA.
Tourel was followed by NBA teams, with a number of team owners, officials and past players coming to watch him closely.
"I know NBA teams have come to see me. I want to get to as many NBA team halls as possible and show them what I can do. I need to score shots, keep good and be a good teammate."
The Jewish basketball player has twice been selected as the player of the season in his district and he leads the all-time scoring table of "Yeshiva" with over 2,000 points, even though two seasons have been shortened due to the Corona plague.
According to the analysis on ESPN, Tourel knows how to score in a number of different situations.
Whether it's at an exit block, a passing attack, or at a distance even when it's far from the three line.
Toral is currently not expected to be selected in the draft, but he can gain momentum in the private training that will be conducted before the draft.
