The International Tennis Federation has announced the names of the cities chosen to organize the group stage of the Davis Cup from 14 to 18

Bologna, Glasgow, Hamburg and Malaga.

These are the four cities that will host the sixteen-team Davis Cup group stage in mid-September.

Each will accommodate a different group.

Italy, Great Britain, Germany and Spain will know the identity of their opponents in the draw to be held on March 31.

France, which had submitted an application file just before the deadline, was not selected.

The French federation intended to organize the matches at Roland-Garros.

A request that hardly fit into the ITF criteria.

This required an indoor site and if possible on hard.

Despite everything, the FFT announced to appeal the decision to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), she explained to L'Equipe.

The federation denounces "an arbitrary and opaque choice on the part of the ITF when its candidacy had indeed been expressed".

Pending the return of the appeal, we learned that Canada would be the last team invited for this group stage after the selection had been eliminated by the Netherlands in the qualifying round in March.

It should also be noted that in the Billie Jean King Cup, Julien Benneteau communicated the names of the players summoned to face Italy, at home in April.

Thus Alizé Cornet, Caroline Garcia, Kristina Mladenovic and Clara Burel were called up.

The meeting will take place on the weekend of April 15 and 16 in Sardinia.
