The Bundesliga game between VfL Bochum and Borussia Mönchengladbach was canceled on Friday evening when the score was 2-0 for the guests because of a cup thrown.
In the 68th minute, assistant referee Christian Gittelmann was hit in the head by a drink cup that was thrown from the stands.
It is the eighth game abandoned in the history of the Bundesliga, the last game between FC St. Pauli and Schalke 04 was also ended prematurely in 2011 because of a cup thrown.
