An impressive achievement for runner Diana Weissman, who advanced this morning (Friday) to the semi-finals of the World Athletics Championships in the halls held in Belgrade, Serbia, after equaling her national record.
The 23-year-old Weissman was placed fifth out of 6 in the 60-meter dash qualifiers, track number 1, knowing that in order to advance to the semifinals, she would have to screw up in the top three to advance automatically to the next stage (6 fastest times).
From the moment of the jump, Weissman looked great and was among the first trio, when she eventually crossed in third place, in a time equal to the Israeli record with 7.23 seconds.
Just two weeks ago, Weissman showed she was in great shape, offsetting 7 hundredths from her previous highs and placing him in the competition in France at 7.23 seconds.
Later in the day (21:25), Slamvit will participate in the Aulin-Teferi in the direct final of the 3,000 meters, where last month she broke the national record when she set 8:48:11 minutes and will try to get higher out of 21 runs.
