The resistance was ultimately in vain.
The second set of mental athletes from the chess union Ebersberg-Grafing had to admit defeat on their home boards.
Ebersberg
– In the Inn-Chiemgau district, as well as in the national leagues, the chess team fights were held again after a pandemic break of more than three months.
The second team of the SU Ebersberg-Grafing lost to the promotion favorite PSV Dorfen with 2.5:3.5 points.
The traditional club from the neighboring district of Erding has been known for decades, especially from encounters with the SU-Erste, often in regional league times, and proved to be too strong for the second.
After defeats by Martin Kirsch (board 2), Dietmar Güntner (4) and Werner Clausnitzer (6), they were already 0:3 behind before Peter Niedermaier (3) reduced the deficit with a convincing performance.
Captain Klaus Rudolph drew and Karl-Heinz Hartmann won his game on top board.
