Spain's Paula Padusa, ranked seventh in the world, qualified for the semi-finals of the Indian Wells Tennis Championships.
Padusa qualified after defeating Russian Veronika Kodermetova in two sets without a response, 6-3 6-2, to continue the successful defense of the title that she crowned last year.
She will face Padusa in the semi-finals of Greece's Maria Skari, who qualified at the expense of Kazakh Elina Rybakina, after defeating her in two sets without a charge.
