Youth players are the future of a football club, especially at the amateur level.

If two clubs play together, a conflict of interest can easily arise, as is the case between TSV Ebersberg and TSV Steinhöring.

– The successes of the joint A-Juniors (SG Ebersberg/Steinhöring), consisting of around half from the respective camp, arouse desire and cause unrest behind the scenes.

"We know that the Ebersbergers have already approached our youth players," says Petar Jokic, the head coach of the first team at TSV Steinhöring.

"These guys should shape the future for us," Jokic hopes for a commitment from the Steinhöringen youths.

Manuel Markio, player-coach of the Ebersberg reserve team, reveals other plans: "Of course we would also like to tie the Steinhöringers to us.

First and foremost, we have to look at ourselves.”

Under the direction of Georg Münch, the SG managed to get promoted to the A-Junior state league in the autumn.

According to the BFV statutes, however, syndicates are not permitted there.

That's why the Münch team continues to get down to business in the district league.

The youngsters have given rise to intellectual games on both sides.

They play a central role in the respective squad planning for the coming season.

"I get that it's a big issue.

Both clubs actively advertise.

But I stay out of it and won't take sides," says head coach Münch neutrally.

“We in Steinhöring have high hopes for our boys.

You are part of our association.

I see some of them in our first team,” says Jokic, hoping for future collaborations with SG’s own youth players.

The experienced coach is aware of the consequences of their possible departure to Ebersberg: "Steinhöring is a small town.

Half of our current team is well over 30 years old.

So the boys are extremely important for our footballing future.”

In the county town they want to lure the A-youngsters with an attractive sporty package.

The respective relegation of both teams in the men's area could be the deciding factor.

"Then the chances are good.

The boys would have high-quality development opportunities in the district league and district class," argues Ebersberg's Manuel Markio.

The preparations went well for SC Baldham-Vaterstetten.

Now Coach Sugzda's players have to fight to stay up in the district league.

The mission to stay up begins: TuS Holzkirchen II starts with the relegation cracker against Sauerlach

It will be an exciting week.

And not least because the TuS Holzkirchen II – as expected – is fighting for the league in the district league 1.

The green-whites are currently still on the safe side, but TSV Sauerlach, an absolute relegation hit, is already waiting on Sunday right at the start of the 2022 football year.

Georg Münch's players would be a reinforcement "definitely for both sides".

Her head coach is certain: "You definitely have the quality for it.

Even if there is of course a difference between youth and men's football.

But some even have the potential to take an even bigger step.”

While the A-Juniors of the SG Ebersberg/Steinhöring are currently still preparing for the start of the shortened BOL season at the end of March, there is at least a duel raging behind the scenes for their sporting future.

Should the Steinhöringers actually decide to go to the neighbors, those responsible might have to question the sense of a gaming community, which can mean both a blessing and a curse.
