Danny Abdia speaks after the season record against Denver (the Wizards' official website in Hebrew)
The Washington Wizards broke tonight (Saturday through Sunday) a streak of six losses, and Danny Abdia was a senior partner in that.
The Israeli scored 17 points and helped the Wizards erase a 16-point deficit, en route to 119: 127 over the Los Angeles Lakers and LeBron James, who lost again after beating Toronto the night before, and have failed to put together two straight wins since early January.
The absence of Kyle Kozma, who did not play due to pain in his knee, cleared the stage for the forward in the forward position when Wes Ansald Jr. gave the Israeli 32 minutes and received from him the third plus / minus index in the group: +10.
Abdia recorded 4 of 14 from the field, including 3 of 8 from outside the arc and was also accurate in all six of his shots from the penalty line, in addition to one steal.
Abdia got into things from an early stage in the first quarter, but in those minutes Washington absorbed 36 points and quickly dropped to minus 16, as the visitors from City of Angels managed to maintain a similar gap until the middle of the third quarter.
In the last 12 minutes, however, the Wizards stopped LeBron and his teammates by only 20 points, and a minute to the end came Abdia's biggest moment of the game: with a 116: 119 advantage, the Israeli caught a pass from Tomasz Storansky and a three-pointer that increased the lead to six and actually closed interest.

For LeBron it was a historic evening, but unfortunately it ended in another loss.
James overtook Carl Malone en route to second place in the all-time scoring list in the NBA, after scoring 38 points tonight and reaching 36,947 overall.
The Lakers star came into the game with 19 points less than the legendary Utah Jazz forward, and managed to get past him in the second quarter with a streak that included three threes and a layup.
As soon as the game stopped, LeBron received applause from the crowd in Washington and waved his hand in a gesture of appreciation, embracing Guardians Wizards Cantabius Caldwell Pop, a former teammate.
James also finished the game with 10 rebounds and 6 assists, Russell Westbrook added 22 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists for the Lakers.
The Washington shots were led by Kristaps Forzingis who finished with 27, Coldwell Pop added 18 and 10 rebounds and Daniel Gaford, like Abdia, scored 17.
