A great achievement for the Israeli team in wheelchair tennis, which advanced to the World Championships today (Sunday), after defeating Thailand 0: 2 in the qualifying semi-finals held in Antalya, Turkey.
The quad team (the most severe degree of disability), achieved the victory in the semifinals, when Noam Gershuni won the first game, defeating Solo Soloift 1: 6 2: 6, followed by Shraga Weinberg and Tombat Yampafa 3: 6 1: 6.
In doing so, Israel secured its place in the final tournament, which will be held in May in Portugal.
Weinberg said at the end: "Happy every time to go up to the world championships and represent Israel, thanks to coach Ofri Lankri who knew how to get the most out of all of us at the height of professionalism, Noam who is always fun to play with and new rookie Eli Hayut who completed a solid team."

In the degree of disability OPEN (easier), the team defeated Italy 0: 2, when it advanced to the finals of the qualifiers and will try to get the only ticket to the world championship.
The young 17-year-old talent, Sergei Lysov defeated Tzipo Antonio 1: 6 2: 6 and immediately followed by Adam Berdychevsky Gabriel Luka Arka 1: 6 6: 2 1: 6.
