English Cup Summary: Southampton - Manchester City 4: 1 (Sport 1)

After Chelsea secured their place in the English Cup semi-final with 0: 2 over Middlesbrough, today (Sunday) the list of the four teams that will reach the games at Wembley with the remaining three quarter-final matches will be completed.

Crystal Palace qualified for the semi-finals after a convincing 0: 4 at home over Everton, while Manchester City defeated Southampton 1: 4 away on the way to the Big Four as well.

Liverpool (20:00 in Sport1) will meet Nottingham Forest in the sub-league away and will finally close the four teams that will be at Wembley.

Southampton - Manchester City 4: 1

The champion and Premier League leader returned to score after two 0-0 results in the Champions League and in the league, and kept the possibility of winning a treble open.

Raheem Sterling gave the Citizens the lead in the 12th minute, but an own goal by Americ Laporta set up a 1-1 draw.

The guest got a penalty that Kevin de Bruyne sent in (62) when the two substitutes who came in a minute later, Riyad Mahraz and Phil Fuden were honored with two more goals and closed out an interest.

The Englishman did so in the 45th minute, while the Algerian signed three minutes later from Ilkay Gunduan’s cooking.
