A lottery to obtain a purchase slot
Paris 2024 overturns the rules of the lotteries often put in place to acquire tickets for a major sporting event.
If generally the consumer must position himself on tickets without being certain of obtaining them, the lottery for the Olympic Games will make it possible, this time, to obtain
a slot of several hours of purchase.
Fans will thus make their purchase on a given day and will obtain with certainty the tickets then available, since purchases will be made in real time.
"The drawing of lots is the fairest modality to allow the whole world to start on an equal footing to try to obtain a ticket, and to avoid congestion on the platform if everyone connects in same time", we believe in the organizing committee.
Packs sold in February 2023, single tickets the following May
To participate in the lottery allowing, initially, to buy packs in order to attend several competitions, it will be necessary to register on a platform open at the end of 2022. From February 2023, the people drawn will make their purchases of packs, according to the time slot assigned to them.
A second draw will determine slots for the acquisition of single tickets, put on sale in May 2023. Finally at the end of 2023, the remaining tickets will be sold in real time, without the need to have been drawn at random to buy them.
One million tickets at 24 euros
The floor price was set at 24 euros.
One million tickets will be available at this price, in the 28 sports on the program of the Olympic Games.
About 50% of the tickets will be sold for 50 euros or less.
Finally, for the Olympic Games, 10 million precious tickets will be available, i.e. 4 times more than for the Rugby World Cup, organized in France in 2023. "The Summer Olympics which were not organized in France since 1924 constitute a rare moment, our challenge is that this rarity does not make the event financially inaccessible”, summarizes the organizing committee.
Day passes at 24 euros for the Paralympic Games
A few days after the closing of the Olympic Games, the Paralympic Games will open (August 28 to September 8, 2024).
The 3.4 million tickets will go on sale in the fall of 2023, with an entry price set at 15 euros (500,000 tickets at this price will be available).
Half of the tickets will cost 25 euros or less and Paris 2024 will offer day passes at 24 euros, which will allow you to discover several sports.
