PSG: the international program during the break

2022-03-21T14:51:08.666Z

As the international break begins on Monday, PSG players will each leave with their selections for the next twelve games.

Long-awaited by some players after the slap in Monaco (3-0), the truce will allow the internationals to evolve in a context less burdensome than the daily life of the Parisian club.

However, this international break will not be easy with heavy stakes for some players.

Some will try to validate their ticket for the World Cup, before the draw for the group stage on April 1.

Here is the program of the players for the next few days.

Keylor Navas (Costa Rica)

For PSG's No. 2 goalkeeper, the stakes will be enormous over the next ten days.

Indeed Costa Rica is in a bad position before the last three games of the playoffs, one point behind the fourth place held by Panama, offering a ticket for an intercontinental play-off.

The Costa Ricans will thus receive Canada and the United States on Thursday 24 and Wednesday 30 March.

Intercalated, the trip to El Salvador on March 27 will also be decisive.

Marquinhos and Neymar (Brazil)

The two Brazilians were called up by Tite, the Seleção coach.

They should be holders for these two official meetings but without stake.

On March 24, Brazil will receive Chile before moving on March 29 to Bolivia at more than 3000 meters above sea level.

Important meetings for their opponents who are still seeking a place in the world, while Brazil is already qualified.

Leandro Paredes, Angel Di Maria and Lionel Messi (Argentina)

The Argentinian trio of PSG was summoned unlike Mauro Icardi.

These are also official meetings, but without stakes, that the Argentinians will play.

Already qualified, Argentina will host Venezuela on the night of March 25 to 26 (12:30 a.m.) before moving to Ecuador on the evening of March 29 to 30.

We will monitor whether Lionel Messi, ill and forfeited for the trip to Monaco, and Angel Di Maria, injured in the hamstrings, will be able to return to the pitch.

Achraf Hakimi (Morocco)

The Moroccan international is playing, with his country, his place for the next World Cup.

A few weeks after the African Cup of Nations which saw the Atlas Lions stop in the quarter-finals, Morocco faces the Democratic Republic of Congo in the play-offs.

First leg match in Congo, Friday March 25 (4 p.m.) and return match in Morocco on March 29 (8:30 p.m.).

Abdou Diallo and Idrissa Gueye (Senegal)

No respite for the two African champions.

The two starting men in the final against Egypt should also be for the round-trip dam against...Egypt.

It will indeed be necessary to rule out the Pharaohs once again, in order to offer Senegal its third participation in a World Cup.

First leg match in Egypt on March 25 and return match in Senegal on March 29 at 6 p.m.

Gianluigi Donnarumma and Marco Verratti (Italy)

And if the European champions were not on the trip to Qatar?

This hypothesis is more than credible to date as Italy finds itself in the play-offs.

The “Nazionale” faces Macedonia in Palermo on Thursday evening.

Before in case of victory to play a final against the winner of the match Portugal-Turkey.

Marco Verratti and Gianluigi Donnarumma should start for these two games even if the Parisian midfielder has only played 103 minutes since the Euro with Italy.

Nuno Mendes and Danilo Pereira (Portugal)

The left side and the defensive midfielder of PSG were also called up by Fernando Santos.

Both holders in the defeat against Serbia in November, the two men are still in the Portuguese coach's papers.

Portugal take on Turkey in the play-off semi-final on Thursday at 8:45 p.m.

And if successful, it is Italy or Macedonia that will meet the Portuguese.

Two meetings that will take place at home.

Portugal haven't missed the World Cup since 1998 and will try not to break that streak.

Presnel Kimpembe and Kylian Mbappe (France)

Two matches without particular pressure for the French internationals during this truce.

The PSG striker and the central defender will face Ivory Coast in a friendly match on Friday March 25 in Marseille.

A special context for both players.

Also on the program is the reception of South Africa in Lille on March 29 (9:15 p.m.).

Thilo Kehrer and Julian Draxler (Germany)

The two men, who rarely start with PSG, were summoned by Hansi Flick, the German coach.

Draxler returns with Germany for the first time since October 2020. The pair will host Israel and the Netherlands on Saturday March 26 and Tuesday March 29 in a friendly match.

Georginio Wijnaldum (Netherlands)

The Parisian midfielder will try to regain confidence with the Dutch selection, already qualified for the world.

Two friendlies are scheduled for the Netherlands during this break.

The reception of Denmark, March 26, before a trip to Germany for an interesting first test before the World Cup, Tuesday March 29.

Finally, some Parisian players have also been called up by their youth teams.

Edouard Michut will thus defend the colors of the France U19 team, for three qualifying matches in the European championship.

Les Bleuets will receive Bosnia-Herzegovina, the Czech Republic and Sweden in the Landes.

Xavi Simons, called up with the Dutch Under-19s, will play a friendly match against NAC Breda and will be training from March 22 to 26.

Finally, three Parisians have been called up with the France U18 team for friendly matches against Germany and the Netherlands.

They are Nehemiah Fernandez Veliz, Ayman Kari and Wilson Odobert.
