After its coronation in the Six Nations Tournament, Grand Slam won against the English (25-13) on Saturday in Saint-Denis, the XV of France is still going up in the hierarchy of world rugby.

The Blues thus gain a place in the ranking of World Rugby, the International Federation, and find themselves on the second step of the podium.

Only the South Africans, reigning world champions, are still ahead of them.

The All Blacks, beaten at the Stade de France on November 20 (40-25), are now relegated behind the team of Fabien Galthié, the coach who extended his term until 2027.

The last time the French team was so well ranked was 15 years ago, in October 2007, after the victory against New Zealanders in the quarter-finals of the World Cup (20-18) .

The Habs had only occupied this rank for a week, since they had dropped to 4th place after their defeat in the semi-finals against England (9-14).

This time, they should maintain much longer and why not pass in front of the Springboks, who will visit them next fall.

The Tricolores should indeed emerge victorious from their next two games during the summer tour of Japan in July and thus extend their unbeaten streak.

They have indeed just chained eight victories in a row, which had not happened to them since 2004, under the second term of coach Bernard Laporte, now president of the French Federation.

The ranking:

1. South Africa, 90.61 pts;

2.

France

, 88.88;

3. New Zealand, 88.75;

4. Ireland, 88.22;

5. England, 84.50;

6. Australia, 83.92;

7. Scotland, 81.80;

8. Argentina, 80.58.

📈 Win their first men's Six Nations title since 2010 and move up to second in the men's World Rugby rankings for the first time since 2007
