The climber Ayala Kerem won a gold medal in the bouldering competition in England Israel today

The final itself did not start smoothly, but later overtook the British competitor who led in most stages of the competition.


The international climbing competition season, opened with the prestigious CWIF competition held every year in England, where the Israeli climber Ayala Kerem provided a big surprise when she finished at the top of the podium.  

Kerem qualified from the qualifiers for the semifinals where she finished fourth.

The final itself did not start a part for Ayala, who failed to close the first track.

She managed to close the next three tracks, thus overtaking the British competitor who led in most stages of the competition.

Kerem is the first Israeli to win the CWIF competition, having previously finished second to Alex Haznov.

The competition was a highlight of a week-long training camp she held in France with her partner Yotam Ben-Reuven.

Yotam also participated in the competition, finishing in 13th place overall. 

Doe summed up the competition: "After a week of training in Paris, the modern bouldering city, we traveled to England to take part in a competition that has been the unofficial international competition that opens the season for years. It was our first time in this competition and we were excited to take part in the event."  

"After a tough qualifying day for me, we both qualified for the semi-finals. Yotam finished in 13th place, and I fought hard for the last track and managed to qualify for the final from fourth place. The final took place that day, a few hours later. The tracks were crazy and the atmosphere electrifying. The girls competed. "With me strong and impressive, it was a pleasure to compete alongside them. The victory exceeded all my expectations. Of course there is a lot to learn and points to improve following the competition, but I feel strong and wait for the international season to begin."

Tomorrow, Ayala will return to Israel and continue training with the team for the upcoming international missions.
