Damascus-SANA

The Wounded Al-Watan Project announced the start of conducting sports tests for the wounded in all Syrian governorates, under the supervision of a specialized committee that will assess the wounded sportsmen according to international standards for private sports federations.

The project stated on its Facebook page that the tests will be carried out in cooperation with the General Sports Federation and a follow-up to the cooperation agreement with the Federation to organize sports activities for the wounded, regardless of their injuries.

He explained that on the basis of the evaluation, the wounded would be classified as talented or willing, so that the wounded who meet international standards would be accepted, and the necessary support would be provided to them to reach professionalism and participate in local and global competitions.

Meanwhile, support will be provided to the wounded who do not meet these criteria and who wish to play sports, through the possibility of going to sports clubs for free under the Wounded Home Card.

The project added that the wounded in military operations from all categories of disability 40 percent and above can communicate through the numbers specified in the governorates to register for the test, which includes details of the sports available in each governorate as well.

The project pointed out that all the wounded who will take the tests must come in sportswear, noting that the work of the Sports Evaluation Committee does not take place only once, but periodically every three months in the governorates.
