Summary: Maccabi Tel Aviv - Bnei Sakhnin 0: 0 (Sport 1)
In August 2019, ex-Maccabi Tel Aviv, former Argentine footballer Alejandro Koenig who played for the team in the 1989/90 season, was accused of stealing and smuggling vans from Argentina to Bolivia using forged documents.
Koenig, now 53, nicknamed the "fat man", was arrested on Argentina's border with Chile and insisted for a long time that he was innocent and denied all suspicions against him - about 11 years after he was first arrested for driving a stolen vehicle with a fake license plate.
Koenig's attempts to evade punishment were in vain and he was tried and sent to prison for three years.
Today (Tuesday), almost three years after the same case, Koenig finished serving his sentence behind bars in Cordoba prison and was released from prison after serving 2/3 of the sentence in light of his good behavior.

Koenig was born in Mar del Plata and began his career at the local Deportivo Espanyol, which he soon left for Maccabi Tel Aviv in 1990, made 12 appearances in the yellow-blue uniform and scored in all three of his first three games - 3: 3 against Betar Tel Aviv, with a 3: 1 loss Bnei Yehuda and in a 0: 2 victory over Hapoel Kfar Saba, but finished with four goals and an injury that led to his departure. Lou made another brief foray into the country as a power player in Ramat Gan.
