Maccabi Haifa announced today (Tuesday) that the person who will replace Assaf Ben Dov as the club's general manager will be Itzik Ovadia, director of the youth department.
A statement from Green Party President Yaakov Shachar said: "Following the announcement by the club's general manager, Assaf Ben Dov, of his intention to retire at the end of the 21/22 season, we have received many applications from candidates.
We met with some of them, all of them worthy candidates, we decided to give priority to someone from the system and promote the director of our youth department, Itzik Ovadia, to the position of CEO.
Shahar added: "We are confident that Itzik will steer the club to further achievements. On this occasion, I thank Assaf, from whom we will say goodbye at the end of the season, for his great contribution to promoting the club during his six years as CEO."

After the appointment, Ovadia said: "I am happy and excited for the challenging position. From the first moment I felt connected to this great club. I thank Yankele Shachar, Uzi Moore and Or Shachar for the trust, and I will do everything to meet all the challenges and tasks ahead."
Last December, Ben Dov announced to Shahar that he intended to retire as the club's general manager after five and a half years. Now, a replacement has been found.
