Ukraine's young fencers, who were absorbed into Israel about two weeks ago, are holding their concluding training camp together with the Israeli youth team.

The young Ukrainian fencers, who were absorbed into Israel about two weeks ago after the European Championships in Serbia in the midst of the war in their country, where they met the young Israeli team, were hosted today (Wednesday) at the Olympic Experience in Tel Aviv by the Israel Olympic Committee.

At the head of the Ukrainian delegation, which could not return to Ukraine and found its place here in Israel, is the Jewish coach Natalia Conord, the 1997 Maccabiah champion, who was the world champion in 2003 and the European champion in 2004.

The two teams left Israel for the World Youth Championship in Dubai on April 6.

In the Ukrainian team Dasha and Arpolombia European runner-up to the age of 23, Nikita Kushman wins the silver medal when the world reached the seniors in Sochi a few days before the start of the war in Ukraine.

Antonio Pomchenko lived in Ashdod with his parents and brother in 2012 and 2013 and knows Israel well.

In the second part of the day, the Ukrainians will take a tour of Tel Aviv and Jaffa.

As you may recall, so far about 50 Ukrainian athletes have entered Israel in fencing, judo, basketball and swimming, with Sports Minister Hili Trooper and Interior Minister Ayelet Shaked agreeing to double the amount.
