We had to dream of a “comeback” for Tours Volley: dryly beaten 3 sets to 0 in the first leg of the CEV Cup (C2), the TVB, was forced to perform against Monza on Wednesday in Touraine.
It was not necessary to lose more than one set.
They eventually lost all three.
No third European trophy therefore after the Champions League in 2005 and the CEV Cup in 2017, to follow the continental coronation acquired Tuesday by Narbonne.
In front of 3200 spectators, the Tourangeaux could not resist the Italian steamroller.
The teammates of French Olympic champion Kévin Tillie came close in the first set.
But after leading by four points, they ended up faltering (26-24).
The dream logically flew away a set later (25-18).
Same score in the last round.
🇪🇺 CEV Cup 2022 🏐 It is with a heavy heart, but proud of the progress made, that TVB bows in this CEV Cup final, against a ruthless Monza team.

The TVB, one of the most successful clubs in French volleyball, with 10 French Cups and 8 French championship titles, will be able to console themselves by remembering the few great memories of their European career.
In January, they notably achieved a real feat by leaving in the round of 16 the “dream team” of Modena, the extremely wealthy Italian club of Earvin Ngapeth.
