Is WNBA star Britney Greiner facing one of the heaviest penalties she could have received?
We will know the answers in about two months, but there is no doubt that this question is troubling the entire United States.
As you may recall, the basketball player was caught in Russia in possession of a "liquid with cannabis oil".
Last week it was announced that it had been decided to extend her detention for another two months, until May 19.
"We were able to look into her condition and continue to work closely with her legal team and those close to her to see that she is being treated fairly," State Department spokesman Ned Price told CNN.
"Our cop found Britney Griner in good physical condition and we will continue to do everything we can to see that she is treated fairly in this process."
However, Peter Mags, a Russian law expert at the University of Illinois, warns of the worst of all: "We are talking about five years in prison, but in a labor camp. I am concerned that the Russians have extended her stay in prison before the trial."

At the moment, Greiner has no more date for the trial, and she continues to remain in custody until a decision is made regarding her.
