The announcement of the retirement of the artistic gymnast and Olympic champion, Linoy Ashram, continues to occupy the world of sports.
After the wave of reactions from colleagues in Israel, another response from overseas joined today (Thursday) and it is one that Ashram is certainly less than happy to receive, although it was not particularly surprising.
The president of the Russian Gymnastics Association, Irina Wiener-Osmanova, said following the Israeli announcement: "She retired a long time ago. She appeared at the Olympics, won what is known as a 'gold medal' and left. For us, this is not news."

As you may recall, the Russian Olympic Committee and the entire Russian state were furious after Ashram won the Olympic gold medal, at the expense of Dina Avrina and now it can be understood that more than half a year after the Tokyo Games, the Israeli gymnast's achievement is still badly burned in their minds.
