"Le Parisien" offers you before each weekend a selection of issues and events not to be missed in Île-de-France.

Overview of the one to come which starts with a bang this Friday evening with the basketball derby between Nanterre and Paris.

BASKETBALL.

The sports hall of Nanterre will be full and boiling.

The weekend will begin with a shock, a duel of neighbors as close geographically as they are distant in their DNA.

A family club and almost a century old (founded in 1927), Nanterre welcomes this Friday its young and ambitious neighbor from Paris Basketball, which was born in 2018 on the ashes of Hyères-Toulon.

Promoted to Elite this season, the capital club will discover the Nanterre hall for the first time with the aim of taking revenge after their loss (80-83) at home in the first leg.

Jean-Christophe Prat's players can count on the arrival of pivot DJ Funderburk, Amara Sy's medical freelancer, to create a surprise.

For its part, Nanterre will try to garner a 3rd success in a row and keep its place in the Top 8, synonymous with a ticket to the playoffs.

Sick and absent last week, Nantes coach Pascal Donnadieu is back.

The question: can the Cergy Jokers overthrow Grenoble, which is leading 2-0 in the Magnus League semi-final?

ICE HOCKEY.

Christophe Cuzin, manager of the Jokers, has not given up at all: “Of course, the series is not over (

Editor’s note: the best of 7 meetings

)!

We are just two games behind our competitors (

losses 2-1 ap Wednesday and 7-2 Thursday

).

The two upcoming matches (

Saturday at 8:30 p.m. and Sunday at 6 p.m.

) will be played at home where we enjoy strong support.

We had won our 3 home games against Amiens in the quarter-finals.

We know it won't be easy but we believe in our lucky stars.

We will play without pressure.

The goal is to come back to 2-2 on Sunday evening.

The player: Elohim Prandi of PSG handball

HANDBALL.

On January 1, Elohim Prandi was the victim of a violent stabbing (six stab wounds in the back) close to the Champs-Élysées in Paris.

Quickly taken care of by the emergency room with “vital prognosis engaged”, as he explained to us at the beginning of March, the 23-year-old left-back of PSG and the French handball team was quickly released from the hospital and began his rehabilitation.

Three months later, Prandi could make a comeback on the pitch this weekend.

He is highly anticipated for the trip from PSG to Nancy on Sunday during the 21st day of Starligue.

Good news for the club which announced this week that the Dane Mikkel Hansen, victim last week of phlebitis coupled with a pulmonary embolism, would be unavailable until the end of the season and would therefore no longer play a match under the Parisian colors.

The good plan: solidarity races in Île-de-France

SOLIDARITY RACES.

Among the many races that will take place this weekend on asphalt or paths in Île-de-France, some will combine sport and good deeds.

This is the case of the brain race in Saint-Germain-en-Laye, which is a solidarity event against multiple sclerosis.

“The brain race is a solidarity race with compulsory collection, the aim of which is to raise public awareness of multiple sclerosis and to raise funds for research”, specifies the press release from the organizers.

Another solidarity event, the Strides of Insurance in the Bois de Boulogne (Paris XVI) which highlights the prevention of cardiovascular disease.
