The street race of the TG Viktoria Augsburg was extremely busy.

The performances shown by Peter Vogt, Stefan Fichtl and Benedikt Mergler were also strong.

Augsburg – Stefan Fichtl, Benedikt Mergler and he have “trained well and a lot” in the past few weeks, reported Peter Vogt.

But that at the "35.

Augsburger AOK-Straßenlauf” jumped out with such strong results, then surprised the trio from the “Team Schönegger Käse-Alm”.

All three drove home with personal best times over the 10 kilometers.

The Rottenbucher Vogt (34:24 minutes) and the Hohenfurcher Fichtl (34:51) each stayed under the 35-minute mark on the route through the Siebentischwald.

"We didn't think such a result was possible for a long time," says Vogt.

The two used the good conditions - a flat course, sunny weather and a strong field - to improve significantly.

"Team Schönegger Käse-Alm" shines with record times

Fichtl had only reduced his 10-kilometer best time to 35:38 at the beginning of the year, during the New Year's Eve run in Kempten.

Vogt's record so far was just over 35 minutes.

Either way, it was a strong showing from both of them.

For classification: Both Vogt and Fichtl were traveling at an average of just over 17 km/h.

In view of the high level of performance in the field of participants - 14 men stayed under 33 minutes - both athletes did not get a podium place in the overall ranking or in the age group.

Vogt was seventh in the M35 class and finished 27th overall.

Fichtl finished ninth in the M35 class and 31st overall for all 245 men.

Mergler's performance was also convincing: The man from Altenstadt completed his first 10-kilometer race in the normal attendance format, i.e. with a mass start, and crossed the finish line after 36:05 minutes.

That meant ninth place in the M30 class and 41st place overall.

TSV Penzberg is happy about the club record

In addition to the runners from the "Team Schönegger Käse-Alm", other athletes from the district were at the start in Augsburg, some of whom were among the very front runners.

Maximilian Weigand (26) from

TSV Penzberg

finished fifth overall with a personal best time of 31:52 minutes.

The man from Penzberg, second in the M20 class, was not completely satisfied: "After two kilometers I thought I could run under 31 minutes today.

But at kilometer three my stomach started to rebel.” He had covered the first two kilometers in an extremely fast 5:56 minutes and had a 20 meter lead over the rest of the field at that point.

From kilometer four, however, Weigand had to slow down.

That's also interesting:

For May 1st, TSV Weilheim invites you to run again in the usual presence format.

Nick Jäger wins a medal with the team at the student world championships in cross-country skiing.

Joris Ressing shines indoors over 800 meters.

Club colleague Lucas Herbeck (24) still made it into the top ten with a personal record of 32:31 minutes - even though he was plagued by severe side stitches in between.

Once Herbeck even had to brake completely and take a few steps: "I just didn't know what to do anymore." Markus Brennauer (42) crossed the finish line after 33:21 minutes, which meant victory in the M40 class.

Together, Weigand, Herbeck and Brennauer finished second in the team ranking – with a club record of 1:37:44 hours over 10 kilometers.

Corinna Braun wins youth ranking

Two women from TSV Penzberg started in Augsburg over the five kilometers: 17-year-old Corinna Braun (19:17) won the U20 class and finished sixth overall, 19-year-old Emilia Weigand (20:53), Maximilian's sister, placed twelfth among adults.

Braun, by their own admission, started far too quickly - the extremely strong field of participants led them to such an offensive start.

She covered the first kilometer in 3:30 minutes.

"I was really shocked when I looked at the clock," said Braun.

Elhadji Diouf and Martin Hermann from TSV Peißenberg completed their first competition after a long break.

Both showed remarkable performances over the 10 kilometers.

Diouf crossed the finish line in 38:13, which earned him 16th place in the M30 class.

Hermann took second place in the M60 class with 41:00 minutes.

In the overall standings, the veteran took 98th place among 245 finishers.

Hermann also praised the organization: "As always with TG Viktoria Augsburg, everything went as planned."

The 17-year-old Austrian Timo Hinterndorfer (31:14) from DSG Vienna and 32-year-old Kerstin Hirscher (34:47) from Neusäß, who wears the jersey of LG telis Finanz, achieved the top times over the ten kilometers at Augsburg's street shopping Regensburg had started.

Thomas Kotissek (15:30) from TV Kempten and Theresa Ortenreiter (16:36) from LG Stadtwerke München were the fastest over the five kilometers.
