The 23-year-old is doing well physically.
Jeddah - Mick Schumacher probably did not suffer any serious injuries in his violent accident in the Formula 1 qualification of Saudi Arabia.
The 23-year-old is doing well physically, a spokesman for the Haas team in Jeddah said he had already spoken to his mother Corinna.
Schumacher had previously been examined in the track hospital.
He was then flown by helicopter to King Fahad Armed Forces Hospital in Jeddah for further testing as a precaution.
This happens "to make sure that there isn't any injury to the body," said Haas team boss Günter Steiner on the Sky TV channel.
Schumacher could be seen on television pictures of how he was sitting on a stretcher in lively conversation with bystanders before departure.
Qualification has been suspended
In the second round of the starting position hunt on the ultra-fast street circuit, Schumacher crashed sideways into the barriers at high speed.
The car belonging to the son of record world champion Michael Schumacher was thrown across the track and then came to a standstill, badly damaged.
The qualification was immediately suspended.
