The Syrian wrestling team achieved four different medals (gold, silver and two bronze) on the first day of the Arab Championship for Youth and Juniors for Romanian and Freestyle wrestlers hosted by Saudi Arabia.
Ali Nshiwati won the gold medal in the Romanian wrestling for the youth category in the 130 kg category. The silver medal was won by Muhammad Obaid in the 72 kg weight, Ammar Tahan bronze in the 63 kg weight category, and Anwar Sharafawy bronze in the 92 kg weight.
180 players representing 12 countries are participating in the tournament: Syria, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Iraq, UAE, Algeria, Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia, Jordan, Palestine, and Sudan.
