Quite a few had already written off EHC Klostersee after the 1:3 at the start of the final series in the Bayernliga playoffs against TEV Miesbach on their own ice.

The equalizer followed, so that today, Tuesday in Grafing (8 p.m.), the third and last final game of the best-of-3 series for the Bavarian championship will be played.

- "We haven't lost in Miesbach this season," Dominik Quinlan said afterwards in a combative manner.

The announcement by the head coach of the Red and Whites did not sound like a slogan to persevere.

By turning a few screws, the EHC head coach also had a decisive part in the 6:2 success of Grafinger in the second meeting on Sunday evening.

Today's third duel between the two teams on Grafinger Eis (8 p.m.) must decide whether the cup is awarded to the Bavarian champions.

Barely ten minutes after the siren, when the fans who had traveled with them were celebrating Captain Bernd Rische's squad on their way to the changing room, the Canadian fan community was already online with a short video on social media.

Kevin Pastachak's living room in front of the large TV wall with the live broadcast from Sprade-TV was packed and cheered, while EHC striker Lynnden's father coolly waved his cell phone camera around.

His son had been a key protagonist in the Klosterseer ranks with one goal and three assists.

“Lynnden, of course, was not yet at his full powers.

But he also showed how important he is with 80 percent in the tank,” Quinlan praised his strong sprinting Canadian, who two days earlier was out of action with a gastrointestinal virus and in the second duel with Bob Wren and Florian Engel in his line of attack and Nicolai Quinlan and Christian Hummer as defenders behind him clearly made the difference.

"With five goals in the end, it was of course the difference players today.

But it was just as important for me that all three blocks did excellent defensive work across the board and hardly allowed anything," said coach Quinlan, who added: "Of course, once again an outstanding performance by Philipp Hähl, who was just in the pressure phases of the opponent and when outnumbered, kept calm and stood very securely.”

On the other hand, TEV coach Michael Baindl, who had described the start success of his two days earlier as deserved due to the "slight advantages in five against five and a strong manpower game", had the tit-for-tat of the EHClers ("They wanted the win today more”) recognized.

Those responsible in Klosters would have liked to have postponed the finale from today's Tuesday evening to Friday simply because of the crowds of spectators, but this didn't work out in the short time available.

The promotion first leg of the Bavarian champions against the title holders of the Regionalliga Südwest (Baden-Württemberg) for promotion to the Oberliga Süd should actually already take place.

But the Heilbronner Eisbären, who won the final there against the Stuttgart Rebels, have already canceled the two-game series because of the waiver of promotion.

The Bavarian League champions thus have the sporting qualification for the Oberliga Süd in their pocket without a fight.

An additional incentive for the finale.
