The Iranian national team crowned the eighth Asian Beach Handball Championship for men, by defeating its Qatari counterpart by two sets to one in the match that was held between them at the end of the tournament competitions hosted by the Iranian capital, Tehran.
The Iranian news agency IRNA reported that the Qatari team ended the first half of the match with a score of 16-17, while the Iranian team won the second half in its favour, with a score of 12-14, to resort to penalty shootouts, in which the Iranian team outperformed 5-6 to win the match.
With this victory, the Iranian team qualified for the World Championships to be held in Greece next June.
