In the semifinals of the state cup in Bavaria, the regional league club Aubstadt from the 700-strong village in Lower Franconia challenged the lions from Munich.

Preliminary report: TSV 1860 Munich travels to the football province weakened by replacements
Munich/Aubstadt - The roles could not be more clearly distributed - actually.
Here the TSV 1860 Munich*, traditional club from the third division, German champions, promotion aspirant from the metropolis.
There the village club with just 709 inhabitants, Germany's smallest community with a team in the fourth division, active for the first time in the Bavarian regional league since 2019.
But none of that counts on the pitch - as the (now former) Löwen city rival Türkgücü Munich had to find out.
In the quarter-finals, the people of Aubstadt already kicked a team from the Bavarian capital out of the cup, back then it was 3-1.
Sixty coach Michael Köllner has been warned: "They have a young, hungry team and with their pace a good transition game," he says.

For him, Aubstadt is “a similar caliber to Buchbach (where they won 3-2 in 1860, ed.) or Burghausen”.
Nevertheless, he wants to live up to the role of favorite with his lions.
“We want to put pressure on right from the start and bring about an early decision.” He demands 90 minutes of full throttle, “so that there is no slack.
The team knows how serious the game is.” Köllner will be missing ten kickers: Moll, Dressel, Belkahia (quarantine), Wein (foot injury), Knöferl (shoulder surgery), Linsbichler (knee problems), Staude (heart muscle inflammation), Wicht (U18 Switzerland), Willsch (Rehab) and Morgalla (U18 Germany).
On the other hand, nobody wants to know about a clear favorite role.
"The chances are 50:50 - at least," says Aubstadt's club president Herbert Köhler.
