Senegal qualified for the 2022 FIFA World Cup for the third time in its history, after defeating Egypt 3-1 on penalties in the match that was held today at Diaminiadio Stadium in the second leg of the qualifying round for the African continent qualifiers.
Senegal won 1-0 in normal and extra time with a goal scored by Boulaye Dia in the 4th minute. The two teams tied after Egypt won the first leg with the same result, but the penalty shootout decided the situation in favor of Senegal.
Amr Al-Sulayya scored for the Egyptian national team in penalty kicks, and Mohamed Salah, Ahmed Sayed Zizou and Mostafa Mohamed missed three penalty kicks during their scoring.
While Ismaila Sarr, Pampa Diang and Sadio Mane scored for Senegal, Kalidou Koulibaly and Salio Siss missed.
