Shamna International Athletics Championships in its first edition will start tomorrow at Tishreen Stadium in Damascus, with Arab and Asian participation.
Fayyad Bakour, President of the Athletics Federation, said in a press conference held today at the headquarters of the General Sports Federation, “The tournament will take place for the young age groups for males and females in 13 races, including 200, 400, 1000 and 2000 meters, in addition to the high jump competition, and the elite of our male and female players have been invited to participate in it. “.
Bakour added, “Through this tournament, we seek to raise the skill level of our teams through friction with players from other countries, thus giving them more experience, pointing out that the tournament, which is held under the supervision of the Asian Athletics Federation, will have the presence of the representative of the federation, which is a good opportunity to convey the message of Syrian sports abroad.” Which states that Syria is a country of love and peace.
It is noteworthy that the tournament, organized by the Syrian Olympic Committee in cooperation with the Athletics Federation, includes thirteen races, during which players from Iraq, Kuwait, Lebanon, Palestine, Iran and Uzbekistan will compete, in addition to Syria.
