The Syrian men's football team concluded its participation in the Asian qualifiers for the World Cup, with a 1-1 draw with its Iraqi counterpart, in the match that brought them together today at Rashid Stadium in Shabab Al-Ahly Club in Dubai.
Our team started the match with offensive pressure, which resulted in an early goal scored by Aladdin Al-Dali in the third minute, after which the two teams exchanged attacks until the 31st minute, so that the Iraqi team equalized through Ayman Hussein.
At the end of its participation in the qualifiers, our team remained in fifth place with 6 points in the first group in the decisive role, and it lost its chance to qualify for the qualifying play-off for the World Cup.
Iran and South Korea qualified directly for the World Cup by coming first and second in the first group of qualifiers in the decisive role, and the UAE team reached the qualifying play-off by placing third after its victory over South Korea today with a goal without a response.
Our team played the match with a line-up that included Ahmed Madania, Khaled Kurdaghli, Saad Ahmed, Thaer Karuma, Amr Janyat, Mohammed Al Marmour, Kamel Hamisha, Mohammed Al Anz, Mahmoud Al Mawas, Aladdin Al Dali and Mardik Mardekian.
