The biggest losers are the players from Türkgücü Munich.

Keeper Rene Vollath talks about unemployment and the club's withdrawal.

Munich – For Rene Vollath it was a kind of deja vu.

Before he was hired on the Isar, he was a professional at KFC Uerdingen, which was also insolvent.

He was warned about investors, he admits in an interview on MagentaTV, but "of course I didn't realize in advance that I'd ended up at an even worse point".

"To be really honest, none of us really expected it at the beginning of January."

Keeper Rene Vollath on the insolvency of Türkgücü Munich.

At Türkgücü Munich * a lot was different than in Krefeld.

By the beginning of 2022, the club had fulfilled its obligations and the players had always received their salaries.

Nevertheless, the 32-year-old has been skeptical since January 2021.

At that time, financiers and President Hasan Kivran threatened his exit for the first time: "There was a backslide again, but from that moment on you are cautious."

Nevertheless, the end of a few weeks ago came as a surprise to the team and the goalkeeper.

"Then a new coach was hired in the winter, even a new goalkeeping coach.

There might even be more players added.

We were still in an expensive training camp.

To be really honest, none of us really expected it at the beginning of January.”

From Türkgücü Munich: goalkeeper Rene Vollath takes the DFB in duty

What Vollath dislikes is the lack of communication from those responsible on Heinrich-Wieland-Strasse.

"Before we had any information, we noticed the rumors from the press.

Incidentally, that was also the case last year,” says the ex-captain, who also critically questions the role of the DFB* in the Türkgücü cause.

“Unfortunately, I have no insight into the licensing process.

When I see Uerdingen and this year Türkgücü Munich – practically pulled the plug from one day to the next – the question arises as to whether everything is so watertight,” says the native of Amberg and calls for an earlier date for the subsequent licensing in winter.

"It's an extreme example for us.

On January 24th you had to prove that you could finance the rest of the season,” he analyses.

"If you don't do it, you have another seven days.

Then it's January 31st, the players can no longer leave and, like all of us, are now facing a three-month professional ban."

"It's actually the DFB's duty of care for the players to create at least one special case."

René Vollath

Vollath himself keeps fit in Unterhaching.

His goalkeeper colleague Michael Wagner on the FC Bayern campus*.

Still, it's not an easy situation for him and his former colleagues.

“I can't go somewhere tomorrow like a normal person who is unemployed and say I want to apply, I've been unemployed for three months.

And that's actually the DFB's duty of care for the players, that at least one special case is created."

During the ongoing bankruptcy, the players received part of their salary up to the contribution assessment limit, but “unemployment benefits will be available from April 1st”.

It is particularly bitter for the players who had the opportunity to change clubs in winter, "but have not reached anyone in the club".

These players in particular would "hurt brutally if the boys now have to go to the employment office".
