Champions League: FC Barcelona beats Real Madrid in front of a world record crowd

FC Barcelona beat Real Madrid 5-2 in the Champions League quarter-finals. For the team led by Alexia Putellas, however, the number of spectators was more remarkable than the result – with a world record of 91,553 fans.

In front of a world record crowd of 91,553 spectators in the Camp Nou stadium, the footballers of defending champions FC Barcelona eliminated Real Madrid on their way to the semi-finals of the Champions League.

The team around star player Alexia Putellas won the Clasico in their own arena after a superior performance 5: 2 (1: 1), Barca had already triumphed in the first leg of the quarterfinals (3: 1).

The previous spectator world record for a women's game came from 1999, when 90,185 fans watched the World Cup final between host USA and China at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena.

The second leg will take place on Thursday (6.45 p.m. / DAZN) in the VW Arena, in the first leg there was a 1-1 draw in England.

At the Camp Nou, Real turned the game around former German international Babett Peter after Maria Pilar Leon's early lead for Barca (8th), Barca responded with three goals within ten minutes.

World footballer Putellas (62nd) made the decision 4-2, Caroline Graham Hansen scored the final score (70th).
