Sportclub and SG Eichenfeld want to keep the youngsters longer in the game

Freising

– Many clubs know the dilemma: Girls who are enthusiastic about football play together with the boys up to the D youth level, but then they often stop.

This has been the case for Sportclub Freising and SG Eichenfeld so far, but now the two clubs want to change that together.

From the summer of 2022, a joint U15 girls team will take part in the game as a syndicate.

There have already been a number of attempts by various clubs or even independent clubs, but it has not worked so far to establish a girls' team on a permanent basis.

The U14 coaches Josef Gangkofer (SC) and Christian Greiner (SGE) – themselves fathers of girls who are football fans – want to change that.

At the sports club, four girls are currently playing with the U14 boys, and in Eichenfeld there are eight girls in the U12 and U14 teams.

13 girls took part in a first training session and everyone had a lot of fun.

In a conversation with the parents, the coaches then explained what they were planning and how training and games should look like.

The response and the willingness to be there was very high.

On Sunday, April 3rd (11 a.m.) there will be a very first joint (training) game with the girls' team from Kirchheimer SC in Eichenfeld.

Girls who want to take a look and also talk to those responsible are warmly invited.

The new syndicate is definitely looking for other players born between 2008 and 2010. It doesn't matter whether the girls have already played in the club or are just starting out with soccer.

The clubs are also planning to expand the concept and establish additional teams, a U17 and a U13, as soon as possible.

In this way, the clubs want to enable the girls to play football on a permanent basis and then to remain active in the women's team of SG Eichenfeld from the age of 17.
