The bronze medalist from the Tokyo Olympics, the taekwondo fighter Avishag Samberg, will return to the competition this weekend, in the World Cup round in Alicante, Spain and will try for the second time in a row to get on the podium, in a competition in which 1,100 athletes will take part.
Samberg, 20, won the silver medal at the World Cup in Bulgaria just a month ago, when in the season opener in Albania, she finished only in fifth place, and has not been able to reach the podium for the first time since 2019, after losing in the quarterfinals.
But Samberg will not be alone in the competition, when ten more Israelis will come to Spain, in a big preparation competition for the important tasks of the year, with Dana Azran (73+), the gold medalist in Albania and Nimrod Kribitzky weighing up to 68 kg, who won the bronze in the competition.
