Continuity alone in defence

SEF coach Plabst had to make unusual changes in the first few weeks of the new year
Freising
– The second half of the season has started for SE Freising.
Time to draw a first interim conclusion at the Lerchenfelder Klub before the away derby a few kilometers down the river at SpVgg Landshut (Sat., 3 p.m.).
There is one constant, as a look at the first games of 2022 shows: there is continuity in defense alone.
Otherwise, the embarrassing 1:4 against SV Bruckmühl was a small turning point.
goal
It can happen so quickly: During the winter break it was clear who would be number 1 and lead Lerchenfelder into the summer.
Maximilian Oswald had the coach's trust, if only because he had queued at the back in September.
But then came the game against Bruckmühl, in which Oswald didn't have his best day.
911 caused unnecessarily, acted unluckily with the goals conceded.
Where other coaches are lenient, Plabst reacted.
Since then, Patrik Heilmair has been guarding the Freising goal, partly because Oswald is behind in training.
But Heilmair didn't do badly.
Since then, three starting XI appearances have been recorded, with him Lerchenfelder did not lose.
Although the newcomer with district league experience had to get behind him four times, the goals he conceded were mostly the fault of his front men.
Among other things, Heilmair parried a penalty.
Conclusion: fox yourself in.
defense
If there's any consistency in the Freising game, it's on the defensive.
Even after the game against Bruckmühl, when Freising was downgraded, the same back four played again the following week.
Why?
Firstly, because coach Plabst has no alternatives.
Vitus Kirchberger just doesn't get fit, and no one has come up with an alternative for Daniel Zanker and Osaro Aiteniora on the flanks.
Both play strong.
Flo Bittner could help out, but then he is missing in midfield at all corners and ends.
In addition: Against Bruckmühl, the Lerchenfelder collectively defended badly, chalking up the defeat to the four defensive men would have been too much of an evil thing.
And: In principle, Captain Jonas Mayr and oldie Michi Schmid are safe.
midfield
The midfield was already a bigger interplay.
On the one hand due to injury, on the other hand Plabst made changes here too.
Sufferers among others: Benedict Geuenich, who has been stewing on the bench ever since.
And the problem is that his successors, such as Maximilian Rudzki, don't do their job badly.
The two American returnees Felix Günzel and Robert Rohrhirsch have also given good business cards since the winter.
A happy coach who can draw on the full.
attack
A bit of the problem child at the SEF.
Andi Hohlenburger is still ailing, and it's not really clear whether he will still appear in the Freisinger dress at all.
His successor?
unregulated.
Luka Brudtloff initially had the confidence, but then got bogged down in youthful activities.
The classic shock striker is missing, rather several players rotate.
So far it has gone well, with the SEF scoring 17 goals in six games.
