Peißenberg/Ravensburg – The season is now over for almost all ice hockey players from the region.

A few of them who are involved in professional ice hockey are still on the ice with their teams.

This also includes Fabian Dietz from Peißenberg, who is under contract with the Ravensburg Towerstars in the DEL2.

The 23-year-old right winger had switched from the DEL from the reigning German champions, Eisbären Berlin, to Oberschwaben before the season.

Fabian Dietz third best "Towerstars" scorer in the main round

Dietz, who grew up with the offspring of EC Peiting, proved to be extremely valuable for the Towerstars.

In the main round he was Ravensburger's third-best scorer with 18 goals, and the Weilheim-born prepared a further 15 goals.

The 23-year-old thus played a significant part in his team finishing the main round in third place.

It is therefore not surprising that the Towerstars, who made it into the play-off semi-finals with a commanding 4-0 win in the “best of seven” series against the ice pirates Crimmitschau, extended Dietz's contract prematurely.

"Fabian has integrated into the team very well, he is a hard worker who always gives his all for the team and can be used in any game situation.

He blocks shots, he scores and he's always there for his teammates," praised Daniel Heinrizi, Managing Director "Sport" at Ravensburger.

He was pleased that Dietz has committed himself to the club for a long time.

"Dietzi is a great guy for the dressing room, he has accepted his role and is doing a great job.

We think it will get even better in the years to come.

He's a great skater, was our third-best scorer, is still young and always wants to get better," Ravensburg's head coach Peter Russell also praised Peißenberger.

Dietz immediately returned the praise he received to the club: “I really enjoy Ravensburg and we have a great team.

I'm given a lot of responsibility, even if I'm outnumbered or outnumbered.

Another point for me was and is that the Towerstars have the right to want to play in the championship," said Dietz, explaining his commitment.

"I also feel very comfortable in the area here and it's not too far from my home country," says the Peißenberger.

It continues for him and his Ravensburger in the semifinals of the DEL2 against EC Bad Nauheim.

Yesterday, Thursday, Dietz and his Towerstars started the "Best of seven" series with a home game - the Ravensburgers lost just under 4:5 after extra time.

Should they reach the final, they will meet the winner of the duel between the Löwen Frankfurt and the Heilbronner Falken.

If everything goes according to plan, the Peißenberger will be able to celebrate another title this year.
