Coach Georg Schwaller wants to save TSV Hohenpeissenberg from impending relegation.

He can draw on experience from his previous club.

Hohenpeissenberg – The fireman who was hired by those responsible at TSV Hohenpeissenberg in winter has experience in putting out fires.

"I know what it's like to be in the back," says Georg Schwaller.

The successor to coach Alexander Sanktjohanser has already experienced a comparable situation at SC Böbing.

When the coach was promoted to the A-class with his team, he only finished bottom of the table in the winter break that followed.

Schwaller did not allow himself to be fooled and continued to work calmly and purposefully.

"We were saved on the penultimate matchday," he reports proudly.

Good participation in training at TSV Hohenpeissenberg

Now the 36-year-old native of Böbingen is attempting the same feat with the Rigi gymnastics and sports club.

When he came to Hohenpeissenberg, he met a team that was badly hit by injuries.

Maximilian Greiner had torn his cruciate ligament, Markus Radlmaier was suffering from knee problems.

The impression that the kickers made on the new coach did not match their position in the table at all.

"The team is not dead," Schwaller stated to his relief.

In every training session, his ensemble showed him just how alive TSV is.

20 to 25 kickers were always there.

“We have a broad squad,” says Schwaller.

He sees this as fulfilling an important prerequisite for embarking on a successful race to catch up.

He also hopes to be able to compensate for the fact that Michael Stossberger, a key supporter, has left the club for Peißenberg.

"This is the chance for the young players", the coach has a positive view of Stossberger's loss.

The team is not dead.

Georg Schwaller, coach.

He and his kicking staff have to take care of the other components.

Of the modest nine points that his eleven fought for before his arrival, only one was generated on their own territory.

"We have to get stronger at home," demands the coach.

In addition, there is the final weakness of the offensive.

The Hohenpeissenbergers don't even score a goal per game on average.

And the defense, like the attack in district class 4, is not competitive at the moment.

It hit the TSV box 38 times, most recently the relegation candidate conceded four more goals in the 0: 4 in Peiting.

"That was a damper," admitted the coach.

His team can't afford too many of these setbacks in the remaining ten matches.

Because every defeat ensures that a crumb crumbles away from the already not huge self-confidence.

"We mustn't always think about it," Schwaller urges his footballers to ignore the difficult situation and simply "clear their heads".

Maybe it will work out with the small series that TSV so urgently needs in order to still manage to stay up in the league.

The best thing to do is start this Sunday (2 p.m.) in the home game against SV Prittriching.

Seven points are missing for a relegation place, twelve points separate the Hohenpeissenberger from the secured midfield.

The job of a firefighter is not easy.

But that won't stop Georg Schwaller from
