The champion enjoyed a huge west of Yannis Antocompo, who overtook Abdul Jabbar and became the greatest Bucks scorer of all time • Philadelphia lost to Detroit • Damar Drusen passionate about Chicago's victory • The Lakers lost again

Five games were played tonight (Thursday through Friday) in the NBA, with the playoffs just around the corner.

Damar Drusen exploded with 50 points, Yannis Antokompo overcame Karim Abdul Jabbar and secured for Milwaukee a place in the playoffs, and the Lakers lost to Utah without LeBron James.

Brooklyn (37:40) - Milwaukee (28:48) 120: 119 in overtime

Two important things Milwaukee got in the dramatic overtime win over Brooklyn - the first is securing a place in the playoffs, the second is a new leading scorer in the history of the franchise.

Yannis Antokompo scored a hat-trick that sent the game into extra time and made it the Bucks' top scorer, passing Karim Abdul Jabbar.

The Greek freak, who finished with 44 points, 14 rebounds and 6 assists, scored twice from the penalty spot in the closing seconds of overtime, giving the reigning champions the win that put them half a game away from Miami at the Eastern Summit.

Jero Holliday added 19 points, and Chris Middleton managed to score 16 points before being sent off in the third quarter.

The host was led by Kevin Durant with 26 points, 11 assists and 7 rebounds, but he also missed a three that could have been a win.

Kyrie Irving scored 25 points and Bruce Brown 23. The Nets are currently in eighth place in the East and they will have to make the playoffs en route to the playoffs, where they may meet Milwaukee again in the first round series.

Detroit (56:21) - Philadelphia (30:46) 94: 102

Philadelphia recorded its third straight loss, this time to Detroit from 14th place in the East.

The Sixers are now 2.5 games away from the first Miami.

Joel Ambide's 37 points and 15 rebounds were not enough, nor were James Harden's 18 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists.

The Pistons' shots were led by Cade Cunningham, the No. 1 pick in the last draft, who scored 27 points.

Sadiq Bay scored 10 of his 20 points in the final minutes and was responsible for a run that closed a story in Money Time.

Chicago (32:45) - LA Clippers (40:37) 130: 135 in overtime

Chicago defeated the Clippers in overtime, much thanks to a season-high 50 points from Damar Drusen, who was 2 points away from the peak of his career.

The star scored 17 points in the fourth quarter and brought Chicago back from a 16-point deficit, but missed two free throws that could have won before legal time, after being accurate twice from the line and establishing a tie.

The Bulls are battling for a spot in the top six in the East to avoid reaching the playoffs, and are now three games ahead of seventh-placed Cleveland, which lost tonight.

Reggie Jackson led the loser with 34 points.

Utah (31:46) - LA Lakers (45:31) 109: 122

San Antonio's loss yesterday put the Lakers back in tenth place in the playoffs, but the City of Angels team dropped to 11th place again after a loss to Utah.

Donovan Mitchell's 29 points and Rudy Gober's 25 points and 17 rebounds were too many for Frank Vogel, without LeBron James.

The Purples led the Russell Westbrook with 24 points, Dwight Howard added 21 points and 12 rebounds.

In another game:

Atlanta (37:40) - Cleveland (35:42) 107: 131.
