For the 2022 World Cup, the reigning world champions will stay in a huge establishment away from the hustle and bustle of Doha (Qatar). We

The Blues wanted calm, they found the perfect place.

Welcome to the “Al-Messila” Resort & Spa, named after the district of Doha where the future hotel of the French team is located during the World Cup in Qatar (November 21 – December 18).

An establishment from the "Luxury Collection" range of the international Mariott chain which brings together almost all the qualities desired by the French Football Federation (FFF): tranquility, comfort, proximity to good sports facilities and a reasonable price.

In this early spring, the place is a paradise for tourists looking for relaxation.

As a family, with friends or as a couple, they sat around the huge outdoor swimming pool, surrounded by the hotel and its 130 rooms on one side and villas on the other.

The world champions will occupy the first part, privatized, in accommodation offered from 200 euros per night and whose price increases according to the services offered.

An affordable price range for the FFF which had a specific budget to respect.

Three restaurants and several other lounge areas are also available.

Unlike the bad experience of Euro 2021 with several host countries, the Blues will therefore benefit from a single place for the entire competition.

All with large outdoor spaces, which was not the case in Munich (Germany), Budapest (Hungary) and Bucharest (Romania) last year.

On more than one hectare, Kylian Mbappé and his teammates will be able to walk along beautiful green paths, leading to the three padel courts, the large fitness room or the spa with indoor swimming pool.

Within the resort itself, two tracks are even indicated for jogging.

The opportunity to breathe fresh air among local plants and birds.

Exotic and away from the towers of the business district.

The green spaces of the “Al-Messila” Resort & Spa almost make you forget that the hotel is located in Doha.

For the sports facilities, Didier Deschamps and his staff also chose the location well.

In the heart of a district with a metro station and very quiet housing (two international schools located a stone's throw away), despite work still being carried out as in the rest of the country, the Hôtel des Bleus is only 5 km from the training center of Al-Sadd, former club of Xavi, new coach of Barça.

This is where the French will train during the World Cup.

As for the nearest enclosure, it is less than 8 km away: the Education City stadium and its 45,000 seats.

The world champions will take possession of their base camp five days before the date of their first match (an arrival scheduled for Doha between November 16 and 19).

On this strategic file, France has benefited from the meticulous work undertaken since October 2019 by Philippe Brocherieux, the administrative manager in charge of logistics management during major competitions.

To this end, he had made several trips to the small emirate with Mohamed Sanhadji, the liaison and security officer of the Blues, in particular in December 2021, in the midst of the Arab Cup.

On Thursday March 31, the tricolor staff also visited the Al Samriya Autograph Collections hotel located outside Doha, in the Shahaniya district, in the middle of the Al Samriya farm.

Composed of 62 rooms and 26 villas, a spa and a restaurant, it had the particularity of not yet being fully completed.

This point certainly weighed against him.
