While the Wizards have already lost a chance to sneak into the playoffs in the East, Danny Abdia is taking advantage of the last straight of the season to improve his numbers and establish his status as one of the team’s future players.
A week before the end of the regular season, Washington and Abdia are hosted tonight (Sunday) by the Boston Celtics, which is in a location battle in the top four in the East.
The Massachusetts encounter will be the last of four between the teams this season: The first two encounters ended in the Wizards' victories, including one on the Boston field, while in the previous game the Celtics came out with their hand on the top after a 51-point Jason Taitum play.
Abdia has scored double-digit points in nine of his team's last 11 games, and in the previous three meetings this season against the Greens he has averaged eight points per game.
The Wizards are 11th in the East with a 43:34 balance, but they have only lost once in the last five games.
The Celtics, who are ranked third in the East, two games behind the first Miami, will try to improve their balance that stands at 30:48 with a second straight win.
