FC Eitting remains true to its line.

The club relies on players from the area and their own youth.

Neudecker is even ready to play in the district class.

Eitting

– FC Eitting has had great times – even so great that a club official wrote to the local newspaper that one should please not abbreviate FC Erding to FCE.

Because there is only one true FCE in the district.

We didn't do that, but his arguments weren't that bad back then.

As a district top division team, Eitting was the undisputed number one in the region and had even defeated TSV Buchbach in the relegation.

Long gone.

The club now has a stable position in the district league – albeit with troubled times from time to time.

The last cracker was only a few weeks ago.

Because Hans Faltermaier is no longer a sports director.

"That's true," he confirms, "but I don't want to say more about it, we've agreed on that internally."

So internal that the club didn't even find it necessary to inform the public.

And so internally that Faltermaier didn't even want to answer whether he left voluntarily or was left.

The former was the case, says Reinhard Neudecker, who has temporarily taken over the management of the department together with Wolfgang Ettl.

He regrets Faltermaier's decision: "It's always a shame when someone leaves who has done so much on a voluntary basis."

The whole thing is a bit reminiscent of autumn 2018. Even then, the term of office of a football boss ended prematurely: Gerhard Schrödl threw the chunk down, but also did not want to comment.

It was speculated that Schrödl did not agree with the team's separation from coach Zoran Mikerevic.

Neudecker on the attitude of the fans in the village

This time too – according to football circles – it was about the coach and how he was treated.

As reported, player coach Markus Weber will leave the club after the season.

He had asked for support in vain after it became clear that his two assistant coaches, Felix Zehetmeier and Michael Pech, would retire after the end of the season.

So Weber took his hat off.

Thomas Zellermeyr now comes in for him (we reported).

After a conversation with the current coach of SV Marzling, it was clear to Weber: This will not work.

He will not stay as the second man.

Faltermaier, who is also closely connected to Weber privately through his daughter's friendship, may not have liked the development in the past few weeks.

Another sticking point should have been the question in which direction FC Eitting is going in the future.

It is rumored that in Faltermaier's eyes too many had a say.

But the direction is clear.

Neudecker puts it this way: “We would like to complement the currently good team with young talent from the offspring to form a top collective.

The core and the cohesion of the team is excellent and a good breeding ground for talent.” The past few years have shown “that in our village it doesn’t matter that much whether we are a district league team.

You want to see your own people play.” Gone are the days when, for example, in derbies like against Langengeisling there was only one Eittinger on the pitch – and that in FCL dress.

A time that Neudecker describes as "bitter", but does not want to completely demonize it.

Bringing in former Bayern league players like Höferth, Pummer and Schenk - "that's not in FC Eitting's gene pool, but without such commitments we wouldn't have had a district league team and we would have had to cancel the second division anyway," he explains.

"That's the problem when nothing comes up from youth for years."

But now the FCE wants to go back to the old identity.

The through ball for this is provided by their own A-Youth, from which eleven players switch to the men's team.

“We see huge potential there.

It is very important to us to integrate the boys,” says Neudecker.

"We're going to put a lot of focus on that.

Even at the risk of it becoming difficult from a sporting point of view?

"We would rather accept relegation to the district class than move away from this goal," says Neudecker.

The youth have absolute priority.

"Many of our players haven't even seen FC Eitting yet"

Neudecker about old times

The outgoing coach Weber has already pointed out to the local newspaper that the experienced players shouldn't be forgotten.

And Neudecker at least does not deny that there were also many discussions with Faltermaier.

But there is no way around change.

As far as identification with the club is concerned, they want to go back to the time before 2015. "Many of our players haven't even experienced FC Eitting yet," says Neudecker and raves about the once so conspiratorial bunch.

“We want to come back there.

It doesn't really matter whether they are from Eitting or not.

But we need people who embody the FCE with body and soul, so that we can spread the many tasks on several shoulders.” Of course, the current department head is aware that the youngsters cannot handle it alone.

“Some of them won’t be there that often because of their studies.

And not every A youth player can play in the district league right away," says Neudecker.

That's why he relies on already established permanent staff.

Frede Neudecker, who is said to have spoken out about personnel policy in recent months, will play a key role in this.

Sportingly undisputed anyway, the former national league player should become the leading figure of the team.

His brother Reinhard also confirmed that the 30-year-old had offers from other clubs, "but he's staying with us".

This is not yet certain for Felix Zehetmeier, he is also said to have an offer as a player-coach.

Neudecker didn't want to say anything about it, would like to see him in the blue and white jersey after his injury in the future.

And players like Chris Härtl or Lucas Bruckbeck, who also trains the A youth team with Frede Neudecker, are “essential for the future of the FCE”.

At their side could be players like Patrick Biener,

who offered a strong game in the A class last week.

“Really good people are coming,” says Reinhard Neudecker, citing the Noll brothers as another example.

You just have to find the right mix.

That's not easy.

He and his co-partner Wolfgang Ettl are currently going through a very talkative phase.

Because with all the hope that the FCE will be the old one again, Neudecker is also a realist.

“We used to sit together at the Fischerbräu.

It was asked who will continue in the new season.

After two minutes that was done.

Those times are definitely over.” (Dieter Priglmeir)
