Finally Champions League again!

In the quarterfinals of the premier class on Tuesday there will be two exciting pairings.

Both games are available in parallel in the live ticker.

• Liverpool coach Jürgen Klopp* wants to take the first step towards the semi-finals at Benfica.

• Pep Guadiola* is challenged with Manchester City against Atlético Madrid.

Lisbon/Manchester – Eight teams are still in the draw for the handle pot, but only one will go down in history as the 2022 Champions League* winner.

While FC Bayern Munich* is the only remaining German team to start the competition on Wednesday, the first four quarter-finalists are already challenged on Tuesday evening.

Liverpool FC, coached by Jürgen Klopp, are visiting Benfica Lisbon, while Pep Guardiola's Manchester City is hosting top Spanish team Atlético Madrid.

In the current Premier League season, Manchester City and Liverpool* are fighting for the title, with only one point separating the two top teams with eight games to go.

Internationally, too, both England clubs have the best chance of making the big leap.

For this, however, the respective quarter-final opponent must be cleared out of the way.

Liverpool has been in top form in recent weeks, the Klopp team has won the last nine games in the league and their last defeat was in December.

Liverpool recently suffered a 1-0 defeat against Inter Milan in the Champions League, but won the first leg 2-0 to qualify for the quarter-finals.

Now Benfica Lisbon* is the team that threw Ajax Amsterdam out of the last round.

Things have been going badly for the capital city in the league recently, the last away game in Braga was lost 3-2.

Benfica are a disappointing third, 15 points adrift of championship contenders FC Porto.

Nevertheless, the Portuguese are always good for a surprise.

From Pep Guardiola's point of view there are probably no potential surprises in the game against Atlético Madrid.

The playing styles of the two clashing teams are well known: Manchester City will try to find the solution in the game, while Atlético will defend with discipline and wait for the gap.

The league leaders from England easily prevailed against Sporting Lisbon in the last round, while the third in the Spanish league knocked out the opponent's city rivals Manchester United 1-0 and 1-1 from the tournament.
