The second phase of ticket sales for the FIFA World Cup in Qatar from November 21 to December 18, 2022 began on Tuesday and will end on April 28 at 11:00 a.m. Paris (12:00 p.m. Doha), organizers said.

“People whose ticket request has been satisfied will be informed of the outcome of their request by email no earlier than May 31,” FIFA said in a statement.

Four types of tickets are available: tickets for a particular match (in four price categories, the last of which is reserved for residents of Qatar), tickets reserved for the supporters of a team for the entire group stage or for a match of the second phase in which their team is likely to participate, and tickets giving access to four matches in four different stadiums.

For spectators from abroad, the prices of individual tickets for the first round range between 250 and 800 Qatari riyals (between 62 and 200 euros) for a match.

For the final, it is necessary to count between 2200 and 5850 riyals (550 and 1460 euros).

The prices of tickets reserved for residents of Qatar run from 40 to 750 riyals (from 10 to 190 euros) per unit.

On average, they are 30% more expensive than at the previous World Cup in Russia in 2018. Given the short distances between the eight stadiums located within a radius of 50 kilometers from the center of the capital Doha, “for the first time, the public will have the possibility of requesting tickets for two matches taking place on the same day, at the start of the group stage”, also specifies Fifa.

More than 800,000 tickets sold during the first phase

The opening of this second phase of sales follows the draw for the first round of the competition last week.

World champion France inherited an affordable Group D, with Tunisia, Denmark and a play-off.

Brazil (in Group G with Serbia, Switzerland and Cameroon) and Portugal (in Group D with Ghana, Uruguay and South Korea) were less fortunate.

The most attractive poster is Spain-Germany, in group E, on November 27.

Out of 32 participating nations, 29 have qualified, the last three will have the opportunity to do so in the play-offs in June.

A total of 804,186 tickets were allocated during the first sales phase between January 19 and February 8, while 17 million had been requested.

There are a little over 3 million available in all (2 million for sale and 1 reserved for Fifa and its partners).
