Summary: Middlesbrough - Chelsea 2: 0 (Sport 1)
The Champions League quarter-final stage continues tonight (Wednesday) with the most intriguing encounter of all four, with Chelsea hosting Real Madrid for the first of two games.
The guest is of course the factory winner with 13 subdivisions, while Thomas Tuchel's team is the reigning European champion, with winning the trophy at the end of last season being the second in the history of London.
Federico Valverda returned to the squad at the expense of Marco Asensio, as did Danny Carvajal.
The coach himself, Carlo Ancelotti who was not present on the lines in the league game against Salta after being found positive for Corona, did not go with the team to London because he was still positive for Corona, but on the morning of the game was checked again, found negative, defined as recovering and standing on the lines.
On the other hand, Habertz and Policic were again at Chelsea's edge, with Tuchel again benching Lukaku.
The Blues come after the surprising 4-1 home defeat to Brentford in the league, while the Blancos also snatched a humiliating quartet at home from Barcelona in the La Liga Clasico, but have since managed to get back on the winning track with a 1-2 away win over Salta Vigo.
